Question:  Can I email forms using America Online (AOL)?

Answer: AOL does not support MAPI (Mail Application Protocol Interface). In order to send a transaction via email the transaction must be saved as a file to your desktop and then emailed as an attachment. Receiver must have the WINForms® viewer.

To Email the transaction using AOL:

  • Select Send Mail from the File Menu of the Menu Bar. A New Message window will appear.
  • Tab to, or click in the Message field and Select All from the Edit menu of the Menu Bar. This will highlight all the instructions for the recipient to view the transaction.
  • Select Copy from the Edit menu of the Menu Bar and close the New Message window.
  • Open AOL Email and Paste the instructions into the Message field.
  • Attach the transaction file and enter the Email address.
  • The transaction may now be Emailed.

For more information concerning emailing a transaction or forms within a transaction, please consult the User's Manual and the Appendix to the Manual.

Question:  Why does the program show that my WINForms® is going to expire?

Answer:  Remember that when WINForms® expire, you will need to visit our Website at http://www.winforms.com/aor/ to renew your software. Starting 30 days prior to your expiration date, you will be notified each time you bring up a form that your library is going to expire in XX number of days. Please take careful note of these messages! They have been put there to help ensure that you do not find yourself fighting to put together a purchase agreement and then find out your library is expired! These messages cannot be turned off.

Question: While trying to email WINForms®  I received a NO MAPI error. What is MAPI and how do I get it?

Answer:

          Option 1:

If you received the message "mapi services not available" when trying to email transactions it is likely that the cause is that the registry key, [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows Messaging Subsystem\Mapi] is set to 0. (This is of course assuming that you are running a MAPI compatible client such as Outlook and not AOL.) This key should be set to 1.

    Option 2:

If you are running Microsoft Office, the easiest way to fix this problem is by running a repair on the Office installation.
